Vanguard ETFs Misnamed

The naming of some of the Vanguard family of CRSP indexed funds is inconsistent. I'm always having to bounce back to the Vanguard website to keep things straight.
MGV should be Vanguard Mega Cap Value ETF.
VTV should be Vanguard Large-Cap Value ETF.
VUG should be Vanguard Large-Cap Growth ETF.

Hi Jason! Thanks for writing in.
You can add the Full Name column to your watchlist to see the full names of the ETFs. The names on our end are consistent with those listed on the Vanguard website:
https://investor.vanguard.com/investment-products/etfs/profile/mgv
https://investor.vanguard.com/investment-products/etfs/profile/vtv
https://investor.vanguard.com/investment-products/etfs/profile/vug

Maria Karpenko I see that the "Name" of VTV and VUG are consistent with the Vanguard website. That's unfortunate. I got the "better" names from my personal notes written down a long time ago, probably because Vanguard omitted some terms as well.
The "Name" of MGV is not consistent with the link you provided. The word "Value" is omitted on Koyfin.

Kumquat Walrus: thanks for your feedback! We use short names for ETFs on our platform to make things easier to read and navigate. You can find more details about this here: https://www.koyfin.com/help/release-notes/v3-55-short-names-for-etfs/
Our full ETF names are consistent with those listed on the Vanguard website.
