Custom Formulas Should be Global or Supported by Import View
K
Kumquat Walrus
Custom formulas are defined on a per table view basis. Please make custom formulas globally available so I don't have to redefine a formula for each and every table I make.
For example, I perform my own indicated dividend yield calculation because the value in koyfin is incorrect. Every single table requires me to repeat the definition of indicated dividend yield.
This is probably part of the "sharing" change koyfin recently implemented.

Ability to share views, formulaes across community
O
Orchid Newt
Not all of us are expert FA's/TAs therefore it woud immensely help if there was a community to contribute views, formulaes, tips and tricks etc by those who are able. A ranking system to promote and recognize contributing users would boost morale and confidence.
For eg I saw the video on how to find stocks with zero analyst ratings on youtube. That is good but what financials do analyst see that they do not want to cover the security. Maybe some FA could contribute. Similarly a negelected stock which turns around after an EA, I want to find out how many Analyst freshly covered that security and how many analysts raised their forecast for that security. A place to ask such questions and get community answers.
Above are real questions btw.

Hi Umar, thanks for this feedback.
You are inquiring about a social community related to Koyfin? This isn't something we are focussed on building in-app at the moment.

Allow custom formulas to be copied to other watchlists

Custom formulas seem to be bound to the watchlist they were created on. Please allow copying them to other watchlists.

Custom column watchlists don't transfer

The only way to get transfer custom watchlist columns onto another already created watchlist is to remake the custom column in that watchlist, and then you have to do this for every single existing watchlist you want it on. The only way to circumnavigate this is by creating a duplicate of a watchlist with said custom column and then clear all the names in it and add in all the names from scratch, which is very tedious work. Especially if I've just come up with a custom column I want to see for everything, and now have to create the formula from scratch for every pre-existing watchlist.

Connect Screens & Watchlist
G
Garnet Squid
"Screen > Bulk Actions > Add to Watchlist" option nowadays allows only to send the stock(s) filtered by the screen to a specific watchlist.
It would be beneficial to have a seamless connection between screens and watchlists. While screens allow the import of watchlist views, they do not support loading proprietary formulas developed within the watchlist.
Additionally, integrating screens and watchlists would enable watchlist views to update automatically based on regular screen updates, reducing the current manual process.
Finally, I do believe that proprietary formulas should be stored at a user level and not at a watchlist level so that users could use a proprietary formula in any koyfin application.

New watchlist import features

I can't import a watchlist csv file that contains 'average cost' and 'quantity' yet omits 'purchase date' and 'target' columns. On import I get a bunch of invalid rows that I can't fix in order to create the watchlist. Wish the feature would accept the info as-is.

Can custom columns be universal across all watchlists, screens, or am I not using some functionality correctly?

The watchlist import only copies across pre-defined formulas to the new watchlist.
Please could you also import the custom formulas from the old watchlist to the new watchlist.
