Inconsistent Search Tool Filtering

There seems to be an issue with the search tool regarding stocks with single character tickers. Sometimes, it defaults to a ticker that I haven't requested. For example, I type in B for Barrick Mining and the tool gives me BRKB. I type in G for Genpact and the tool gives me GOOG. M for Macy's gives me MMM.
Other times it works correctly. For example, F for Ford gives me F. D for Dominion Energy gives me D. C for Citigroup gives me C.
I don't know if this behavior happens with 2 or 3 character tickers. Sometimes I catch the issue, other times I don't and I have to retype the ticker and select the proper ticker from the list.
While I'm thinking about it, here's a suggestion. If there are 2 identical tickers, please default to the ticker that is for a market in the country that I reside in. There are times when the search tool defaults to a foreign market and I don't catch it -- and end up analyzing a chart that is not the correct chart. Thank you!

We have made some optimisations for search that should improve this. Here are your examples, now focussing on the single ticker names.
The engine now prioritises exact matches and secondarily volume. We did not create logic to filter by a user's country of residence, as we don't capture this data at the moment on the user settings level. But good idea for future.

Seems similar to my post within “Slow Symbol Search” under Bugs & Data errors.
I’m still experiencing this every single day. I type one CUSIP, hit enter, it retrieves a different CUSIP. Have to retry my ticker slowly.
